Haryana offers incentives to doctors at busy hospitals

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced incentives for doctors working at high-footfall hospitals. The aim is to improve care at crowded government facilities across the state.
Hospitals can now reuse funds received under the Ayushman and Chirayu health schemes for upgrades. The state will also provide free injections to patients with diabetic retinopathy, a diabetes-linked eye condition that can cause blindness.
The Chief Minister said Amrit Pharmacies will be set up across the state by November 1. These pharmacies sell medicines at discounted rates. Officials said the steps will cut out-of-pocket costs for poor patients.
Health experts said the incentives could reduce the rush at a few big hospitals. They added that staffing in rural centres still needs attention. The state will track patient outcomes to judge the scheme’s impact.
The state has also promised new equipment for district hospitals this year. Officials said doctor vacancies will be filled on priority. Patient feedback will be collected to track service quality.
