Parkinson’s Drug Shows Stable Scores After 12 Months: Study

Gain Therapeutics has reported 12-month data from its Parkinson’s disease drug trial, showing that patients’ motor scores stayed stable over a year of daily dosing.

Twelve participants completed 12 months of daily oral rexaceract by August 31, 2026. Their MDS-UPDRS motor scores showed no disease progression from the scores recorded at study entry.

The results held for participants with both high and low baseline levels of GluSph, a marker linked to the disease. The company said the safety profile was favourable, with no significant safety signals.

The data comes from the open-label extension of a Phase 1b study. The poster will be presented at the International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders in Seoul, running October 4 to 8.

Rexaceract is a GCase modulator known as GT-02287. It aims to slow or stop the disease process rather than just treat symptoms.

The company says the findings support the drug’s disease-modifying potential. Larger trials will be needed to confirm the effect.
