The Vvaan has crossed the Rs 33 crore mark in its opening weekend, according to trade reports. The film, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, released on Friday, Sept 25. Day 1 collected Rs 8.12 crore net, as per Taran Adarsh via ANI. Day 2 jumped 40.52 per cent to Rs 11.41 crore net.

Sunday advance bookings of Rs 4.01 crore gross, up 45 per cent over Saturday, took it past the Rs 33 crore gross mark, trade reports said. Bollywood Hungama’s box-office page lists The Vvaan’s India net at Rs 26.62 crore and its worldwide gross at Rs 33.41 crore.

Karan Johar praised the film on Instagram, writing, ‘Vvan has HIT the box office and the bulls eye!!! Congratulations and big love and where’s the party guys??’

Meanwhile, Meesaya Murukku 2 earned Rs 13.95 crore India net in three days, per Sacnilk. The Tamil musical drama collected Rs 3.30 crore on Day 1, Rs 4.60 crore on Day 2 and Rs 6.05 crore on Day 3, a jump of about 31.5 per cent. Its India gross stood at about Rs 16.30 crore.

Both films released on Sept 25. Early trade numbers point to a strong opening weekend.
