Taapsee Pannu features on the cover of Filmfare’s September-October 2026 issue, where she opens up about Gandhari’s global success, her journey as an outsider and the realities of turning producer.

The actor, who plays Bani in the Netflix action thriller Gandhari, said the film had the biggest opening among OTT originals this year, including those headlined by male stars. She revealed she performed all her own stunts, as the budget did not allow for face replacement technology. ‘When you start from scratch, the fear of failure is less,’ she said of her approach to fearless role choices.

On producing, she said headlining a film means her face is on the cover, so she must ensure the best possible release. Looking ahead, she wants films mounted on her name to grow from the Rs 20-25 crore scale to Rs 35 crore, then 45 and 55. She is currently shooting Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan?, in which she plays ACP Komal Sharma.
