Producer Dinesh Vijan has confirmed that Stree 3 will release in 2028, ending months of speculation about the horror-comedy franchise.

The announcement was reported by entertainment outlets this week. Vijan said the team is working to make the third film bigger than the previous two.

Stree and Stree 2 were major box-office successes, turning the franchise into one of Bollywood's most loved horror-comedies. The second film's cliffhanger left fans demanding a sequel.

The 2028 date gives the makers time to develop the story and lock the cast's schedules. Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor are expected to return, though the cast has not been officially announced.

The film will be part of Vijan's expanding horror-comedy universe, which has become a reliable box-office brand.

Horror-comedies have become one of Bollywood's most reliable box-office genres. The first two films earned hundreds of crores at the box office and built a cult following. Casting announcements are expected closer to the start of filming.
