‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ To Return With New Footage

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is set to swing back into theatres with additional footage, following its record-breaking $2.5 billion global run, according to a Variety report cited by the Hindustan Times.
The Tom Holland-starrer has been the highest-grossing film of 2026 and the third-biggest film of all time worldwide, and the re-release could push it even higher up the all-time charts.
The film set a new domestic box-office record in North America with $936.773 million, overtaking ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ ($936.66 million), and now sits at around $950.6 million, within striking distance of becoming the first film to cross $1 billion domestically.
No date has been announced for the re-release, and details of the new footage have not been revealed.
The film was also the highest-grossing Hollywood release ever in India, earning $52 million, underlining Spider-Man’s massive following in the country.
The re-release strategy follows a growing Hollywood trend of bringing blockbusters back to theatres with bonus content to squeeze more revenue from proven hits. Exhibitors are expected to welcome the move, as the film’s fan base has shown strong repeat-viewing appetite.
