Salman’s Galwan Film Clears Govt Hurdle, Eyes Nov 13

Salman Khan’s war drama Maatrubhumi has cleared a major government hurdle, bringing it closer to theatres.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry gave the film a No Objection Certificate last week. Officials are now satisfied with a revised version submitted by the makers.
The film, first announced as Battle of Galwan, is based on the 2020 India-China conflict. The Defence Ministry had raised concerns over its content and references to China.
The makers reworked the film and reshot a significant portion. The revised version now shows India-China ties in a positive light, a source told Bollywood Hungama.
Salman is now eyeing November 13 for the theatrical release. He believes the post-Diwali period will keep audiences in a celebratory mood.
One hurdle remains. The film still needs clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification. If certification finishes this month, the November 13 plan could hold.
The film is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and co-stars Chitrangda Singh. A clearer picture is expected in the next ten days.
