Salman’s Galwan drama ‘Matrubhoomi’ nears release after nod

Salman Khan’s war film “Matrubhoomi” may finally be heading to theatres. According to a Bollywood Hungama report cited by Bolly Orbit on October 4, the film has received government approval for release and could arrive as early as next month.
The film was first announced as “Battle of Galwan”. Its title was changed earlier this year. It is based on the 2020 conflict between India and China, and it had waited a long time for government approval.
Reports suggest the film is now eyeing a November 13 release, after repeated postponements. The official NOC status clears the last major hurdle before a theatrical launch.
The war drama is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and co-stars Chitrangada Singh alongside Salman Khan. The story draws on the Galwan Valley clash, one of the most sensitive India-China episodes of recent years.
An official announcement of the release date is still awaited. Trade watchers say a November slot would give the film a clear festive-window run at the box office.
