Rakul Preet Singh has denied any link to the recent Income Tax searches in Mumbai. She called the reports malicious and unproven.

The IT department searched around 12 locations in Mumbai on September 28. The operations covered premises linked to Rakul, producer Vashu Bhagnani and Panorama Studios.

Officials are probing alleged overseas fund transfers linked to film projects. No final findings have been announced.

In a statement, Rakul said she is not involved in any illegal foreign remittance. She said she has been paying taxes since the age of 20.

She said the search was not referring to her. The investigation into the other premises continues, officials said.

Rakul married actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani, son of Vashu Bhagnani, in 2024. The searches also covered filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar’s office, as per reports. Officials are examining whether overseas payments complied with tax rules. The department has not announced any final findings. Such searches are part of ongoing probes into film industry finances.
