Pen Marudhar Bags Gunmaaster G9, Jailer 2 Hindi Rights
Pen Marudhar has acquired the all-India distribution rights of Gunmaaster G9 for over Rs 35 crore and the Hindi rights of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 for over Rs 15 crore.
The distributor is building on the success of Awarapan 2, which also released through Pen Marudhar and entered the Rs 100 crore club. Gunmaaster G9 stars Emraan Hashmi and reunites him with director Aditya Datt after Aashiq Banaya Aapne.
The film also stars Genelia Deshmukh and Aparshakti Khurana. It is scheduled to release in cinemas on November 27.
Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth, releases on October 15. The first Jailer had a limited Hindi release in 2023, but the sequel is expected in national chains.
Pen Marudhar’s slate now includes Love and War and King. The two buys take the company’s latest spending past Rs 50 crore.
Gunmaaster G9 releases on November 27, while Jailer 2 arrives on October 15. The first Jailer earned limited Hindi box office in 2023 due to competition.
