Nana Patekar Performs Brother’s Last Rites in Pune

Veteran actor Nana Patekar performed the last rites of his elder brother Dilip Patekar in Pune on Thursday, in a quiet family ceremony attended by close relatives.
Dilip Patekar, who stayed away from the film industry, died earlier this week. The funeral was held at a crematorium in Pune, where Nana Patekar was seen carrying out the rituals alongside family members. Several friends from the Marathi film fraternity were present to offer condolences.
Nana Patekar, known for acclaimed performances in films such as Krantiveer, Parinda and Ab Tak Chhappan, has always kept his family life largely private. The actor, who divides his time between Mumbai and his farmhouse near Pune, was visibly emotional during the ceremony.
Colleagues from the industry expressed grief on social media, remembering the family’s low-profile and grounded lifestyle despite Nana Patekar’s decades-long stardom.
The actor is currently shooting for upcoming projects and is expected to resume work after the mourning period. Family members requested privacy, asking the media to respect their grief during this difficult time.
