Mona Singh Begins UK Shoot for Vikas Bahl Film

Mona Singh has started shooting for her next feature film in the UK, sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses from the Cotswolds on Instagram in October 2026.
“This project/movie feels special and unprecedented, its because we have thrown out the old rule book,” the actress wrote, hinting at an unconventional approach to filmmaking.
The project is reportedly directed by Vikas Bahl, the filmmaker behind Queen (2014), Goodbye (2022) and Shaitaan (2024). The ensemble cast reportedly includes Jimmy Shergill, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Mona Singh and Alizeh Agnihotri, bringing together Indian and international actors, musicians and performers.
Set in Britain in the early 1990s, the film traces the rise of the UK Punjabi music movement — a culturally charged era when a generation raised between two cultures began creating music out of garages, backrooms, pirate radio stations and underground gigs.
The coming-of-age drama is a story about music, identity, family, friendship and belonging, set against a time when Punjabi dhol collided with basslines and young Brown artists fought their way to the music charts. Further details on the release plans are awaited.
