MNS Functionary Held Over Forgery In Akshay Kumar Sister Case

Mumbai police arrested an MNS functionary in a forgery case. Ganesh Chukkal and an associate were picked up by Powai police on October 2, 2026. The case involves a forged property lease.
The lease is linked to Bollywood star Akshay Kumar’s sister. Police say a three-year lease document was altered. Forgery in property deals can lead to long legal battles for the victims.
Chukkal is a functionary of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). The party has not yet commented on the arrest. Police are examining the documents seized during the operation.
Property fraud cases are common in Mumbai’s expensive real estate market. Fake leases and forged papers cheat owners and tenants alike. Police have advised people to verify documents before signing. The accused will face court proceedings. The police will now trace how the forged lease was created. They will check if the same method was used in other deals. Document verification has become easier with digital records. Buyers are advised to cross-check papers with the registrar. The court will decide on custody of the accused.
