New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson hosted the season 52 premiere of Saturday Night Live, bringing four championship teammates along for the ride. Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, O.G. Anunoby and Josh Hart joined him on stage.

Brunson, the reigning NBA Finals MVP, fielded questions from his teammates during his opening monologue. Towns asked if anyone could foul out of SNL, while Hart teased Brunson about leaving $113 million on the table when he signed with the Knicks.

The Knicks are coming off their first NBA championship in 53 years, beating the San Antonio Spurs in five games in June. Anunoby drew the biggest laugh recalling his last-second tip-in off Brunson's missed shot late in Game 4.

Brunson became just the fifth basketball player to host SNL and the first since LeBron James in 2007, according to Bleacher Report. Musical guest Katseye performed, and Kenan Thompson played ESPN's Stephen A. Smith during the monologue.

The defending champions open the new season against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 20. Brunson closed the show saying he would get back to his 'real job' soon.
