Hrithik Roshan Reunites With Rajinikanth in Jailer 2 After 40 Years

Hrithik Roshan has shot a cameo in Jailer 2, reuniting with Rajinikanth 40 years after they worked together in Bhagwaan Dada. The collaboration was reported by Variety India on October 6.
In the 1986 film Bhagwaan Dada, a young Hrithik played Rajinikanth’s foster son as a child artist. The Jailer 2 cameo brings the two together on screen for the first time since then, a gap of four decades.
Hrithik shot his portions over June 22 and 23 in Chennai. Pinkvilla reported that the actor plays a menacing villain in the Nelson Dilipkumar-directed film, which also stars Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu.
The casting is a major talking point for the Rajinikanth starrer, which follows the blockbuster Jailer. Bringing in Hrithik, one of Hindi cinema’s biggest stars, signals the makers’ intent to mount the sequel on a larger canvas and draw audiences across languages.
The original Jailer (2023) was one of the biggest Tamil blockbusters of its year, which has made the sequel among the most awaited Indian films. Casting updates for Jailer 2 have been closely tracked by fans in both Tamil and Hindi cinema.
