Ayushmann’s Udta Teer Pushed to October 23

Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s spy comedy Udta Teer has been postponed from October 9 to October 23, the makers announced on Friday.

The film was moved to avoid a crowded marketplace and a clash with Drishyam 3: The Conclusion, which released on October 2. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh called the shift a smart move, according to reports.

Udta Teer is a patriotic spy comedy written and directed by Akash A Kaushik, in which Khurrana plays a Pakistani agent who loses his memory and believes he is Indian. It is the second pairing of Khurrana and Khan after Pati Patni Aur Woh Do.

The film is produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, with Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain attached as producers.

The film had earlier been moved from September 11 to October 9, and this is its second postponement. The 3-minute-18-second trailer shows Khurrana as a Pakistani agent who loses his memory and believes he is Indian, a comic reversal of the spy genre. The makers have described it as bringing back Khurrana’s flavour of humour-filled family entertainers. Akash A Kaushik makes his directorial debut with the film.
