Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha will undergo spine surgery after suffering a fracture in an accident during a work-cum-holiday trip to Bali, her team confirmed in an official statement on Thursday.

The statement said the actress is currently hospitalised in Bali and under medical observation. Following further evaluation by doctors, arrangements are being made to fly her back to Mumbai in an air ambulance, where the surgery will take place.

“At present, our immediate priority is her health and ensuring she receives the necessary medical care,” the statement read. It added that her work commitments over the next few weeks are likely to be affected as she rests and recovers.

The team requested privacy and said further updates would be shared as appropriate. Details of the accident itself have been kept private.

Nushrratt made her film debut with Jai Santoshi Maa and rose to fame with Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010) and Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011). She later headlined films like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Dream Girl, Chhorii and Akelli. Her publicist Sanchita Trivedi of Idhyah Media issued the statement.
