Love & War theatrical rights sold for Rs 300 crore

The theatrical rights of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War have been sold for a whopping Rs 300 crore to distributor Pen Marudhar, according to reports.
Bollywood Hungama has reported that the global distribution deal was sealed after a competitive bidding war involving Dharma Productions, Jio Studios and Anil Thadani. Pen Marudhar secured the worldwide theatrical rights in what stakeholders describe as one of the biggest pre-release deals in Hindi cinema.
The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, and is scheduled to release on January 21, 2027. It marks Ranbir Kapoor’s reunion with Bhansali nearly two decades after Saawariya.
“It’s a global deal, and Pen Marudhar is set to bring forward the biggest release of 2027 in January,” a source told Bollywood Hungama. The stakeholders are reportedly confident of recovering the investment and making substantial profits.
The film’s first-look posters released last week became an instant talking point online, and the teaser is expected around Diwali.
