Drishyam 3 releases today with record advance bookings
Drishyam 3, the final chapter of Ajay Devgn’s hit thriller franchise, released in theatres today with one of the strongest advance bookings of 2026.
The film crossed 2.50 lakh ticket sales at the national chains ahead of release, according to trade tracking. The first-day advance stood at around Rs 22-23 crore nett, putting it on course for a Rs 50-60 crore opening day in India.
Pinkvilla’s forecast pinpointed the opening at Rs 53 crore nett. The advance has been strongest in Maharashtra, Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru, the markets where the franchise has traditionally performed best.
Directed by Abhishek Pathak, who also helmed Drishyam 2, the third instalment is based on a fresh script rather than the Malayalam original. Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta, with Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj joining the cast.
Drishyam 2 was a massive blockbuster in 2022, earning Rs 240.54 crore in India, and expectations for the finale are sky-high.
