FICCI FRAMES 2026 is under way in Mumbai, and this year’s edition is giving the microdrama boom a dedicated spotlight. A special session titled Microdrama, Mega Business: The Next Content Disruption is being held on September 29 and 30, bringing together platforms and creators driving the short-form storytelling wave.

The panel features representatives from Meta, Zee’s BULLET Microdrama, Eloelo Group and Kuku alongside members of the creative community. The two-day convention has drawn industry heavyweights including Ayushmann Khurrana, Ekta Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Sriram Raghavan, with JioStar, Zee, Netflix, Prime Video, Sony Pictures and Dharma Productions all in attendance.

Other sessions cover cinema, reality television, artificial intelligence and copyright, regional storytelling, streaming and the creator economy. Microdrama, with its bite-sized episodes designed for mobile viewing, has emerged as one of the fastest-growing content formats, and the industry is now racing to turn it into a sustainable business. The convention is one of Asia’s largest media and entertainment gatherings, drawing broadcasters, studios and technology firms each year.
