Disney licenses dozens of titles to Netflix in limited deal

Disney and Netflix have struck a non-exclusive licensing deal that puts dozens of Disney-owned films and TV seasons on Netflix for limited terms. The agreement was first reported by Variety on October 2.
The first batch arrived on October 4. Seasons 1 and 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians and all five original Ice Age films are on Netflix for three-month runs. The timing is promotional: Percy Jackson season 3 premieres on Disney+ on November 20, and Ice Age: Boiling Point opens in theatres on February 5, 2027.
More titles follow. Will Trent seasons 1-4 arrive on November 3 and Shifting Gears seasons 1-2 on December 1 in the US. Tracker’s three seasons head to Netflix internationally in early 2027, along with Pixar’s Soul and Elio and Disney Animation’s Raya and the Last Dragon.
None of the titles leave Disney+ or Hulu, so Netflix gets shared, not exclusive, rights. Disney frames the deal as a revenue and marketing play using Netflix’s roughly 325 million subscribers. Neither company disclosed the financial terms.
