BTS and Lisa win at 2026 MTV Video Music Awards
BTS and Lisa were among the big winners at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards held on 27 September in Los Angeles. BTS took home three awards, including Song of the Year.
According to reports, BTS won Song of the Year, Best K-Pop and Best Group for ‘SWIM’, the lead single from their album ‘ARIRANG’. It was their first Song of the Year win.
Lisa won Best Pop for her solo track ‘Dream’, becoming the first K-pop soloist to win in the category, according to reports. She also performed during the ceremony.
Taylor Swift won Video of the Year for ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, while Madonna was named Artist of the Year. The ceremony was hosted by Snoop Dogg at the Peacock Theater.
The VMAs celebrate the year’s biggest music videos and performances. The wins underline K-pop’s continued global influence on mainstream music and its growing awards presence. Fans celebrated the wins on social media overnight.
