Bollywood Braces for October 16 Clash: Prahaar vs Nayyi Navelli
October 16 will see a rare box-office clash in Bollywood. Rajkummar Rao’s Prahaar and Yami Gautam’s Nayyi Navelli release on the same day.
Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam stars Rajkummar Rao alongside Wamiqa Gabbi, Tarun Sharma and Jaideep Ahlawat. The film tells the story of the well-known public prosecutor.
Nayyi Navelli stars Yami Gautam with Rajesh Dubeay. The film is expected to bring back horror comedy in a big way this festive season.
The day gets even busier for Rao. His other film Raftaar, co-starring Keerthy Suresh, Tanya Maniktala and Rajat Kapoor, also opens on October 16. That puts two Rajkummar Rao films against each other.
October 23 brings Tu Hai Meri Kiran, with Ankit Gupta, Zaheer Iqbal and Sonakshi Sinha, and Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar. November 5 is the big one: Ramayana Part 1, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol and Yash.
The packed festive calendar gives audiences plenty of choice. Exhibitors will be watching which film takes the lead.
