Anirudh’s ‘One Name’ salutes Rajinikanth’s 50 years
Anirudh Ravichander has released ‘One Name’, the third single from Jailer 2, as a tribute to Rajinikanth’s 50 years in cinema.
The song features a rousing chorus with lyrics by Super Subu. A meme-style line delivered in Rajinikanth’s own voice has become an instant talking point among fans.
Anirudh, who composed the blockbuster Jailer album in 2023, has put together a 12-track album for the sequel.
The first two singles drew strong numbers on streaming platforms, and ‘One Name’ is expected to follow the same path ahead of the film’s October 15 release.
Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is among the most awaited Tamil films of the year. Its trailer arrives on October 5.
Rajinikanth completed 50 years in cinema in 2025, having debuted in 1975. The song’s chorus is built for theatres, where the superstar’s entry scenes traditionally draw whistles and cheers from fans. The full album is expected to release before the film’s October 15 premiere.
