No Official Order Yet on Delhi School Closures: Report

There is no official announcement yet on extending school holidays in Delhi after Dussehra on pollution grounds, according to the Times of India and Education Times on October 1.
Parents should not assume schools will close. The Central Pollution Control Board’s SAMEER dashboard recorded Delhi’s air quality index at 51, in the satisfactory range, on September 30.
Under the Graded Response Action Plan, restrictions on schools, including a shift to online or hybrid classes, are typically considered at Stage III, when the AQI stays between 401 and 450. The capital is nowhere near that threshold for now.
Officials said online or hybrid classes could be ordered if air quality deteriorates sharply, as has happened in past winters. For now, schools are expected to function normally. Parents are advised to follow announcements from the Directorate of Education rather than social media forwards, which often spread false closure claims The next review of air quality measures is expected as winter approaches.
