72nd BPSC prelims postponed again; Oct 25 date deferred

The Bihar Public Service Commission has postponed the 72nd Combined Preliminary Competitive Examination, which was scheduled for October 25, 2026. The commission has not yet announced a fresh date for the examination.
This is the second postponement for the examination. The 72nd BPSC preliminary exam was originally scheduled for July 25, 2026, but was deferred citing unavoidable reasons. It was subsequently rescheduled for October 25.
The October 25 date was listed as tentative in the BPSC examination calendar. The commission has published an official notice regarding the postponement on its website and advised candidates to rely only on official notifications for the revised schedule.
The 72nd BPSC examination is conducted in three stages: preliminary, mains and interview. The preliminary examination is an objective-type screening test, while the mains and interview determine the final merit.
The commission has also cautioned candidates against a fake notice circulating on social media about the 72nd exam, clarifying that no revised date has been announced and that all official notifications appear only on its website.
