Nayara raises petrol by Rs 5, diesel by Rs 3 across India

Private fuel retailer Nayara Energy has increased petrol prices by Rs 5 per litre and diesel prices by Rs 3 per litre across its nationwide network. The revised prices took effect from the early hours of October 3.
The increase has been implemented at more than 7,000 Nayara fuel stations across India. Nayara operates 7,108 pumps, making it the country’s largest private fuel retailer, and also runs a 20-million-tonne-per-year refinery at Vadinar in Gujarat.
The company moved as rising international crude oil and refined fuel prices put pressure on retail margins. Industry estimates suggest oil marketing companies faced negative margins of around Rs 8 per litre on petrol and Rs 9 per litre on diesel during September.
This is Nayara’s second fuel price revision of 2026. It had raised petrol by Rs 5 and diesel by Rs 3 on March 26 amid global energy disruptions, then reversed the entire hike on July 1 when crude prices eased.
Because of its large retail network, the latest increase could affect consumers across multiple states. The hike reflects the fresh pass-through of higher international fuel costs to Indian motorists.
