Ratnagiri Records Hottest October Day Ever at 38.7°C

Ratnagiri recorded a maximum temperature of 38.7 degrees Celsius, the highest October temperature ever recorded in the coastal city, as Maharashtra sweltered under intense post-monsoon heat.
The reading was 7.1 degrees above normal, according to The Bridge Chronicle.
Solapur touched 37.7 degrees on October 8, its highest October temperature since 2002, while Amravati recorded the state's highest at 39 degrees.
Maximum temperatures stayed above 35 degrees across most of Maharashtra after the southwest monsoon withdrew, leaving residents struggling with hot and humid conditions.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for hot and humid weather in six Konkan districts: Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg.
Residents have been advised to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, drink sufficient water and guard against heat-related discomfort. Mumbai faces heat-wave conditions in isolated pockets on October 9 and 10, with the monsoon now withdrawn from Maharashtra.
