DVAC arrests 15 Tamil Nadu officials, seizes Rs 2.15 crore

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption has arrested 15 Tamil Nadu government officials for allegedly accepting bribes, seizing Rs 2.15 crore in the operation.
The arrests were made on October 1 in a coordinated action across the state. Officials said the operation targeted officials allegedly caught in bribery demands.
The DVAC said the seizures and arrests reflect ongoing efforts to combat corruption within the state administration. The accused will be produced before the courts.
Anti-corruption agencies have stepped up trap operations in recent years, acting on complaints from citizens through helplines and online portals.
Officials urged the public to report bribe demands rather than pay, promising confidentiality for complainants.
The case is expected to proceed to charge-sheet stage after the investigation is completed. The DVAC said further details would be shared as the probe progresses. The arrested officials were remanded to custody as investigators map the full extent of the alleged bribery network.
