Chandigarh Only City To Raise Fuel Prices Today

Petrol and diesel prices remained largely unchanged across major Indian cities on Tuesday, October 6. Petrol cost Rs 102.12 a litre and diesel Rs 95.20 a litre in Delhi. Chandigarh was the only city to record a change, with petrol rising Rs 4.39 a litre and diesel up Rs 6.35, HDFC Sky reported.
Oil prices rose in Asian trade on Tuesday after falling nearly 2 per cent in the previous session. Brent crude was up 0.4 per cent at $100.7 a barrel while West Texas Intermediate was up 0.3 per cent at $89.7.
The earlier decline came after Middle East crude exports exceeded pre-war levels on four days in the final week of September, easing immediate supply concerns. The G7 has also agreed to release 100 million barrels of crude and diesel from emergency stockpiles.
However, attacks by Houthi forces on targets in Saudi Arabia, including an Aramco refinery, have kept the geopolitical risk premium elevated. For India, crude prices remain a key factor for inflation and the rupee given the country’s dependence on imported oil.
