Brent Tops $100 After Houthi Attacks On Saudi Arabia

Crude oil futures traded higher on Tuesday morning after the Houthis attacked several sites in Saudi Arabia. December Brent futures were at $100.58 a barrel, up 0.26 per cent, while November WTI futures were at $89.61, up 0.20 per cent, according to The Hindu BusinessLine.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, October crude futures traded at Rs 8,667 in the initial hour against the previous close of Rs 8,669. Earlier in the week, Brent had fallen nearly 2 per cent as Middle East crude exports exceeded pre-war levels on four days in the final week of September.
The G7 has agreed to release 100 million barrels of crude and diesel from emergency stockpiles, adding to expectations of improved availability, HDFC Sky reported.
For India, crude prices remain a key factor for equities and the rupee. A sustained move above $100 a barrel could keep pressure on inflation and corporate margins, while any easing would offer relief to oil-importing sectors.
