New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Barapullah Phase-3 elevated corridor on September 29, along with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The corridor is part of a ₹1,941-crore package of four infrastructure projects for the national capital.

The Phase-3 stretch will reduce travel time between Mayur Vihar and AIIMS from 35–40 minutes to around 15 minutes, giving commuters across east and south Delhi a faster alternative to congested surface roads. The corridor connects the existing Barapullah phases with key arterial routes.

The project had faced long delays, and its completion was seen as a key infrastructure milestone for the capital. The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials and project engineers.

Delhi's government said the new corridor will ease pressure on major junctions and cut fuel consumption and emissions from idling traffic. The remaining projects in the ₹1,941-crore package are at various stages of completion and are expected to be opened in phases.
