World Summit AI 2026 opens in Amsterdam with focus on AI agents

World Summit AI 2026 is underway in Amsterdam on October 7 and 8, with artificial intelligence agents taking centre stage at the flagship event.
The summit is being held at the Taets Art and Event Park in Zaandam, near Amsterdam. More than 10,000 participants and 300 speakers are expected at the tenth edition of the event.
This year's programme gives major attention to AI agents, software that can act independently. Sovereign AI and decentralised AI on devices are also on the agenda.
The speaker line-up includes Daphne Koller of insitro, Carnegie Mellon's Zico Kolter, Taiwan's cyber ambassador Audrey Tang, LangChain CEO Harrison Chase and AMD's Mark Papermaster.
Over 100 exhibitors are taking part, and more than 100 satellite events are running across Amsterdam as part of World AI Week.
The summit comes as AI agents move from experiments to real products. Companies are racing to deploy agents that can handle customer service, coding and business tasks on their own.
Tickets for the two-day event cost 1,699 euros excluding VAT. The European AI Act, in effect since August 2026, forms the regulatory backdrop for many sessions.
