Nvidia-Backed Upscale AI Launches Token Fabric For Rival Chips

Upscale AI, a startup valued at $2 billion in June, launched a networking platform called Token Fabric on Thursday that allows customers to build data centres using AI chips from different suppliers. The platform combines hardware and software so customers need not integrate separate networking systems.
The company is betting on demand from neoclouds and large cloud providers that want to mix AI processors from multiple vendors. Token Fabric combines Upscale’s own networking chips with equipment using Nvidia’s Spectrum-X technology, plus software that spots bottlenecks and flags failing equipment.
CEO Barun Kar said he expects Token Fabric revenue next year in the tens of millions of dollars, potentially reaching the low hundreds of millions. The first part of the platform ships in the fourth quarter, with the full rollout through 2027.
Upscale is backed by Nvidia, Salesforce, Singapore’s Temasek and others. A June financing led by Premji Invest took its total funding to $500 million. The goal, the company says, is simple: keep expensive AI chips computing instead of waiting for data.
