Meta Platforms on Monday launched Meta Enterprise Platform, a new business that will bring its AI tools to corporate customers, and hired MongoDB CEO Chirantan ‘CJ’ Desai to lead it.

Desai will become chief enterprise platform officer and report directly to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The unit will sell Meta’s full AI stack, including the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code, to businesses and developers.

Muse, a personal AI agent launched earlier this month, carries out tasks such as shopping, booking travel, sending emails and making payments. It has climbed the Apple App Store and Google Play rankings and been called the biggest US app launch since ChatGPT.

Desai took over as MongoDB CEO in November 2025 and leaves after less than a year. MongoDB shares fell about 18 per cent on the news. Former CEO Dev Ittycheria will step in as interim chief executive.

Before MongoDB, Desai led product and engineering at Cloudflare and spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow, including as president and chief operating officer.
