Ayushmann’s Udta Teer Moves to October 23

Ayushmann Khurrana’s Udta Teer will now release on October 23, two weeks later than planned. The makers announced the new date on October 2 with a fresh poster.
The film was earlier scheduled for October 9. The shift gives it a cleaner box-office window, avoiding competition from Drishyam: The Conclusion and The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest.
Described as India’s first patriotic comedy, the film stars Ayushmann as Bilal Ahmed, a Pakistani spy who loses his memory in India and begins to believe he is Indian. He eventually ends up fighting for the country.
Suhail Nayyar is reported to play a negative character. Further cast details have not been officially announced.
The new date also sets up a busy season for Ayushmann. His next film, Yeh Prem Mol Liya, follows on November 27, just five weeks later.
Trade watchers say the postponement is a sensible call. A cleaner release window with fewer competing titles gives mid-budget films a better chance at a long theatrical run, especially in a festive month crowded with big-ticket releases.
