Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will launch on October 23, 2026. Developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, it is the 23rd instalment in the long-running shooter franchise.
The game will release on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series consoles. Pre-loading begins on October 15, and buyers of special editions get campaign early access from October 16. It will not be available on Game Pass on day one.
Modern Warfare 4 continues the rebooted Modern Warfare storyline, with Task Force 141 returning. Activision has promised a globe-spanning campaign alongside the series' signature multiplayer modes.
The October release slots the game into the year's biggest gaming window. With pre-orders open, it is expected to be among the best-selling titles of the holiday season, continuing the franchise's two-decade dominance of the shooter genre. PC players can check the published system requirements before pre-loading. Early hands-on reports suggest a globe-spanning campaign of familiar scale.
