Canada FM Anita Anand to visit India October 12

Canada's foreign minister Anita Anand is expected to visit India from October 12 to 15, her third visit to the country. She will hold talks with external affairs minister S. Jaishankar.
The visit comes amid a reset in India-Canada relations after a period of diplomatic strain. Both sides are working toward concluding a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement by the end of the year. Trade minister Sidhu is also engaged in the economic track.
Prime Minister Modi is expected to visit Canada in December, which would mark a significant step in normalising ties. Anand is also expected to attend the Bloomberg New Economy Forum during her trip.
The agenda includes trade, investment, mobility of students and professionals, and cooperation in critical minerals and clean energy. Officials on both sides say sustained engagement is rebuilding trust between the two countries. Officials say people-to-people ties, including the large Indian diaspora in Canada, underpin the reset. Business groups on both sides have welcomed the momentum.
