GST collections jump 14.7% to Rs 2.04 lakh crore

India’s gross GST collection surged 14.7 per cent in September to Rs 2,03,521 crore, according to official data released on Thursday.

Collections have now stayed above Rs 2 lakh crore for three straight months.

Central GST stood at Rs 37,762 crore and State GST at Rs 45,363 crore. Integrated GST was Rs 1,20,396 crore. Net GST revenue rose 18.1 per cent year on year to Rs 1,76,520 crore.

Domestic GST revenue grew 10.1 per cent to Rs 1,37,996 crore. Import-related GST also grew strongly, reflecting festive-season stocking by traders and manufacturers.

The total gross collection for the first half of the fiscal year, April to September, stood at Rs 12,46,278 crore, up 11.6 per cent from a year ago.

The next GST Council meeting is on October 7. Sources said no major rate changes are expected. The panel will focus on process reforms under GST 2.0, including e-invoicing and input tax credit rules.
