Portugal beat Denmark 4-2 in Nations League thriller

Portugal beat Denmark 4-2 in the UEFA Nations League on October 1, in a match overshadowed by a Ronaldo-linked celebration.
Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund scored a second-half equaliser to make it 2-2. He celebrated with Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic Siuu gesture.
The celebration drew attention at Parken Stadium. Hojlund later had a tense exchange on the pitch with Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus.
Portugal went on to win 4-2 on matchday three of the 2026-27 Nations League. The result kept their campaign on track.
Off the field, Ronaldo’s sister Elma Aveiro posted a pointed message about betrayal after his dramatic Portugal exit. She alleged he had been deceived.
Hojlund’s goal was his key moment in an otherwise losing effort for Denmark. Portugal took all three points in Copenhagen. Hojlund struck in the 53rd minute to level the match at 2-2. The game was played at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen on matchday three.
