Rahul Gandhi questions ECI over online Form 6 changes

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Thursday questioned the Election Commission over changes to the online Form 6 for voter registration.
In a post on X, Gandhi asked who at the ECI ordered Tata Consultancy Services to make the change, who at TCS signed off, and whether they were pressured.
His remarks followed an Indian Express report that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had objected to an additional declaration added to the online form.
The declaration sought information on whether the applicant’s name, or that of a parent or grandparent, appeared in the electoral roll prepared during the previous Special Intensive Revision.
The ECI has said the statutory Form 6 was not changed. It called the addition an annexure linked to the SIR process. On September 30, the ECI removed it in states where the revision is complete.
INDIA bloc leaders announced a Save Democracy March from October 2 to 8. Opposition MPs will march to the ECI on October 6.
