India women archers beat China 238-234 for compound team gold

India’s women’s compound archery team has won gold at the Asian Games 2026, defeating China 238-234 in the final on Wednesday.
The victory equals the world record for the event, according to reports. It is one of India’s standout results at the Aichi-Nagoya Games and continues the country’s recent dominance in compound archery at the continental level.
Compound archery — shot with mechanical bows fitted with magnified sights — has become one of India’s most reliable medal events. The women’s team held its nerve against a strong Chinese side in a high-scoring final.
The gold adds to a strong archery campaign for India at these Games. Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav also won the mixed compound team gold, securing a quota place for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
India’s overall Asian Games tally has crossed 60 medals, including 10 gold, with archery contributing some of the brightest moments. More archery finals are scheduled in the coming days.
