Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned on Sunday that any US attack on Iran would “turn the whole region into a fire”, in an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press.

Araghchi said Iran’s missile programme had grown stronger since the war began and that Tehran was ready to defend itself against any attack.

He also denied reports that President Donald Trump had offered sanctions relief to Iran, calling the claims false and saying no such proposal was ever made.

The minister laid out what he described as a seven-day plan to end the war, involving a ceasefire, a humanitarian pause and negotiations on the nuclear programme.

The interview comes as the US-Israel conflict with Iran, now in its third month, continues to roil energy markets and regional politics.

Araghchi’s remarks signal that Tehran is standing firm despite mounting economic pressure — and that the path to a ceasefire remains blocked on the question of sanctions.
