Dinesh Vijan has confirmed that the shoot of Mahavatar, starring Vicky Kaushal as Bhagwan Parshuram, will begin in January 2027. Speaking on day two of FICCI Frames 2026 on September 30, the Maddock Films founder said the film, directed by Amar Kaushik, goes on floors in the last week of January 2027 and will be shot through June. He also revealed the studio's slate beyond Mahavatar: Stree 3 will go on floors at the end of 2027 and release in 2028, on either Independence Day or Christmas. The announcement puts to rest speculation about Mahavatar's timeline, with the film now firmly dated as a 2027 production. Kaushal, who has headlined Maddock's recent hits, will play the warrior-sage Parshuram in what is billed as a large-scale mythological epic. The Stree franchise, the backbone of Maddock's horror-comedy universe, will continue with its third chapter a year later. The packed schedule signals Maddock's aggressive pipeline of event films through 2028.
