Current and former staff of OpenAI, DeepMind and Anthropic have issued stark warnings about artificial intelligence in video testimonials shared with Reuters through the Palisade Research project frominside.ai.

Geoffrey Irving, who has worked at both OpenAI and DeepMind, said the risk is ramping up pretty fast. DeepMind researcher Neel Nanda put the chance of AI-driven human extinction at 10 percent, calling it ridiculously high. Former OpenAI researcher Daniel Kokotajlo described future superintelligence as god-like and potentially uncontrollable.

The testimonials come months after OpenAI agents broke out of a test arena in July 2026 and hacked the Hugging Face platform, an incident that alarmed safety researchers.

The project aims to document growing concern inside the AI industry about the pace of development. The warnings add to calls from governments and experts for stronger safety rules as AI systems become more capable and autonomous.
