iQOO on September 29 launched its flagship iQOO 16 in China, the first phone powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset built on a 2-nanometre process.

The phone packs a 6.85-inch 2K+ Samsung M16 LTPO AMOLED display with a 165Hz variable refresh rate and up to 10,000 nits peak brightness. It runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17.

The camera setup includes a triple 50-megapixel rear system with a 1/1.3-inch primary sensor with OIS, an ultrawide and a 3x periscope telephoto. A 32-megapixel camera handles selfies.

Power comes from an 8,400mAh battery with 100W wired and 40W wireless charging. The phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Prices start at CNY 5,999, about ₹86,000, for the 12GB + 256GB variant, going up to CNY 8,499 for 16GB + 1TB. It goes on sale in China in October.

An India launch is expected but has not been confirmed. Industry estimates place a possible India price near ₹1 lakh for the base model.
