Netflix has renewed its reality series “Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa” for a second season, with Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh returning as the show’s jailers.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by Monika Shergill, Netflix India’s vice-president of content, during the FICCI Frames 2026 event. The first season, which aired earlier this year, became one of the platform’s most talked-about Indian reality shows.

Produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Manisha Sharma, the jail-themed series locks celebrity contestants inside a prison-like set where they compete through tasks and confront personal secrets. The show’s most shareable moments drove more than five billion views across social media, according to Netflix.

No premiere date or contestant list has been announced yet. Shergill said the new season would bring “many new surprises” while keeping the format that made the first season appointment viewing. The renewal underlines Netflix’s growing bet on Indian unscripted content, where homegrown formats have outperformed imported ones. Casting announcements for the new inmates are expected in the coming weeks, and fan speculation about the contestant list has already begun online.
