Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launched 15 development projects worth Rs 173 crore in Ujjain on Sunday, in a big infrastructure push ahead of Simhastha 2028. The projects were unveiled in a ceremony at the Mahakal Mahalok corridor.

Twelve of the projects had their foundation stones laid, while three were inaugurated. The works include new roads, parking facilities near the Mahakal temple, restoration of ghats on the Kshipra river, police housing and a new power substation. The tourism department will also develop 45 urban forests.

Yadav also flagged off 10 new PM e-buses and the Ujjain Darshan service, which will connect the city’s temples and heritage sites. He inaugurated a dedicated police station for the Mahakal Lok corridor to manage the growing crowds.

The Chief Minister said Ujjain will soon get a metro train. With the Simhastha Kumbh two years away, the state is racing to upgrade the temple town’s roads, transport and civic facilities.
