Delhi Police have filed a non-cognisable report (NCR) against PWD minister Parvesh Verma in the ‘slap’ row, reports said. An FIR has been registered against AAP MLA Jarnail Singh following a complaint by PWD engineers.

The row began after an altercation in Tilak Nagar involving Verma and AAP leaders, including Saurabh Bhardwaj. Police sources said a video of the incident shows Verma slapping a youth, with no grievous hurt involved.

AAP leaders were detained during protests linked to the incident. Party chief Arvind Kejriwal joined a protest in Tilak Nagar over the issue, reports said.

Police said the NCR against Verma and the FIRs against the AAP leaders cover different parts of the confrontation. Both sides have accused each other of starting the clash.

The incident has turned into a fresh political flashpoint in the capital. Further action will depend on the outcome of the police investigation. The police have asked both sides to cooperate with the investigation, officials said.
