India’s Sahil Jadhav and Chikitha Taniparthi won the compound mixed team gold at the Asian Games 2026 on Wednesday, beating South Korea in a tense shoot-off. It was India’s second archery gold of the day and the country’s eighth gold medal at the Games.

The pair held their nerve against the strong Korean duo to seal the title after the scores stayed level through regulation. India had earlier retained the women’s compound team gold, making it a golden day for the archery contingent at Aichi-Nagoya.

The victory continues India’s dominance in compound archery at the continental level. The mixed team had entered the final as one of the favourites and delivered under pressure when it mattered most.

Reports said the win may also have secured India a quota place for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, adding extra value to the gold. India’s medal tally keeps climbing as archery, boxing and shooting lead the charge.
